Thailand - Beautiful Pictures

Written By All Video Subscribers on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 | 10:45 AM

Thailand is the most popular tourist destination in Southeast Asia, and for a reason. You can find almost anything here: thick jungle as green as can be, crystal blue beaches that feel more like a warm bath than a swim in the ocean and food that can curl your nose hairs while tap dancing across your taste buds. Exotic, yet safe; cheap, yet equipped with every modern amenity you need, there is something for every interest and every price bracket, from beach front backpacker bungalows to some of the best luxury hotels in the world. And despite the heavy flow of tourism, Thailand retains its quintessential Thainess, with a culture and history all its own and a carefree people famed for their smiles and their fun-seeking sanuk lifestyle. Many travelers come to Thailand and extend their stay well beyond their original plans and others never find a reason to leave. Whatever your cup of tea is, they know how to make it in Thailand.
This is not to say that Thailand doesn't have its downsides, including the considerable growing pains of an economy where an agricultural laborer is lucky to earn 100 baht per day while the nouveau riche cruise past in their BMWs, Bangkok, the capital, is notorious for its traffic jams and rampant development has wrecked much of once-beautiful Pattaya and Phuket. In heavily touristed areas, some lowlifes have made scamming tourists into an art form.

Completely Unique And Outstanding Ideas For Your Wedding

Completely Unique And Outstanding Ideas For Your Wedding

These days people are getting married much later in life and this means that they have their own money to spend on the big day, instead of relying on their parents to pay for everything. Every bride wants her wedding to be the most special wedding ever! When our daughter was taking the steps for planning a wedding, we searched and searched for unusual ideas and we found some good ones!

Alternative Decor Ideas

So you’re not a froofy floral arrangement girl – that doesn’t mean you can’t still have wedding decorations that wow. Think outside the proverbial wedding flower box with this list of blossom free wedding decoration ideas

The Food Pyramid

Fill cylindrical glass vases with fruits and vegetables reflecting your colors. Lemons and limes have been done, so try a unique, more contemporary look with texture-rich earthy vegetables like cauliflower, asparagus, cabbage or artichokes. If citrus suits your color scheme and you’re using flowers, slice the lemons or limes and place them in the jar surrounding the stems.

Love Visually

Build a structure consisting of a bunch of different ornate frames with photos of not only you and your fiance, but also parents and grandparents whose marriages serve as inspiration for time-tested love.

Au Natural

Consult Mother Nature for inspiration, and bring the outdoors in.  Natural objects like stones, leaves, pine cones, even twigs can add an organic aesthetic to your reception decor.  Place in rustic containers or scatter amongst pillar candles for added ambiance.  This idea will nicely complement a fall wedding theme.

A Library Look

Stacks of books intricately piled can work in a number of different ways. For sophisticates, choose antique leather-bounds and vintage classics. For a more fun approach, use books with bright spines and kitschy titles. Or, tie it to your wedding location if beach-side.

Wine-O

Wine bottles and decanters create interesting focal pieces.  Turn a wine bottle into a “lamp” by filling it with candle oil and adding a wick.  Or use a grouping of bottles with a tall single bloom in each.

Lighten Up

Floating candles in a shallow bowl adds light and elegance to your tabletops.  Or arrange multi-level candles on a mosaic of mirrors or tiles, and surround them with seashells or flower petals.  Placing coffee beans or red hot candies at the bottom of a vase or bowl to hold the candles steady also adds an aromatic effect.

Consult your Inner Child

For the kid at heart, fill decorative bowls with your favorite candies – such as jellybeans and M&M’s – in your wedding colors. These centerpieces are sure to be a hit with your guests!

Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept

According to Peter Lyon, Motor Trend's correspondent abroad, Honda is still hard at work on a successor to the much-loved NSX sports car. If true, we can expect the halo car to be powered again by a six-cylinder engine, this time augmented by a hybrid powertrain.

Up to this point, we're willing to put on our tinfoil NSX fanboy hats to suspend our fleeting grip on reality in hopes of a return to Honda-spec supercardom. However, not even Mulder himself could sell us on what Lyon is suggesting. According to MT's man in Japan, Honda is planning to use a flip-flopped Accord platform as the basis for its super coupe. You read that right.

While we'd love to see a 400-horsepower, all-wheel-drive NSX hit the market in 2014, we're not holding our collective breath... especially for one based on a backwards Accord chassis.

Top 10 Effective Methods To Take Control Of Your Weight

Top 10 Effective Methods To Take Control Of Your Weight

Science says our fat cells (particularly those of women) are subject to life changes, and the process of trying to keep trim usually starts in college, when we tend to spend more time boozing and less time snoozing. In fact, the average freshman-year weight gain is 8 pounds, a study from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, finds. What’s more, as young women age, they exercise 15 percent less and their weight increases by 21 percent over 20 years, research from Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, California, reveals.

Anyone who is overweight will testify that losing weight is not as easy as it seems. The people that are lean, or have gone from fat to skinny will say it’s just a matter of motivation and elbow grease. Although it is not as simple as that. Our environments have waged war on us. Their weapons are sedentary lives and trans fats of mass destruction. All is not lost though, here are some quick simple tips to get ahead!

1. Eat Breakfast

Do not skip breakfast. If you need to go to bed a little earlier so that you can get up 20 minutes earlier each morning – do it! Breakfast is so important to your good health and to weight control. According to Dr. Barbara Rolls a professor of nutrition at Penn State University, “Your metabolism slows while you sleep, and it doesn’t rev back up until you eat again.”

Eating breakfast is not only good for overall weight loss, it will help you stay on track with your diet the rest of the day. You are more likely to binge on something sweet and in the “bread” group if you skip breakfast.

You can always keep a couple of hard-boiled eggs in the fridge or some high-fiber, low starch fruit around. If you plan to eat fruit at all during the day, breakfast is the perfect time to do it.

2. Eat Some Protein At Each Meal & As A Snack

In addition to everything that’s been discussed before, eating protein helps you burn more calories. Jeff Hample, Ph.D., R.D., a spokesman for the American Dietetic Association says that, “Protein is made up mainly of amino acids, which are harder for your body to breakdown, so you burn more calories getting rid of them.”

Just think – eating a protein rich snack can help you lose weight. How about a few slices of turkey or ham or some string cheese?

Eating protein will also help you feel full so that you are less likely to crave unhealthy snacks.

3. Substitute Water

Our bodies are about 65-70% water. It follows that water would be not only essential, but the best possibly choice of liquids to ingest. In fact, our bodies will sometimes simulate a hunger response, when in reality the body is craving hydration. When hungry, drink a glass or two of water to check if it suppresses your hunger.

4. Chew Your Food

Chewing our food very slowly and deliberately has several benefits that are often overlooked. It gives us the ability to relax, and enjoy our meal. Slow chewing is the first, and highly important, step in a complex system of digestion. Besides, if we eat slowly, we might feel full before finishing the whole meal, and can leave the rest for the next meal.

5. Exercise Daily

How silly of me to include something as obvious as exercise. I did a 30 day trial with waking up, and walking for 30 minutes first thing in the morning. my journal records that I was feeling amazing during the period of time that I was following this habit.

6. Publicize Your Intentions

Start a blog, join a forum, and have other people keep you accountable to help. Tell other people your plan, it would help you get the motivation to go with it!

7. Create A Food Schedule

Plan your day so that you’re eating at approximately the same time each day. This scheduling will incorporate itself into your circadian rhythm, and aid in digestion.

8. Do Not Over Eat

Know your limit and stop eating when you are full. I have often been a victim of wanting to finish a meal so that it doesn’t go to waste. This has left me with many a stomach ache. Next time, doggy bag it for later, and don’t hurt yourself!

9. Choose Your Snacks Wisely

Put down the Lays and cheese puffs. Pick up the apple and baby carrots. Make the right decision, we know you can do it.

10. Lifestyle

Remember, it’s not about special diets, or special exercise programs. The real secret is in turning your health into a lifestyle, and focusing on this healthy lifestyle with every choice you make.
